An enrollment forecast or enrollment projection is prediction of future student enrollments based on a demographic or mathematical model. Some variables typically included in a demographic enrollment model include but are not limited to:
Historical Student Enrollment Figures
Current Housing Information
Proposed Housing Information
Census and Demographic Data
Student Locations by Address
A typical enrollment forecast will project future student enrollments by grade, school or even specific geographic boundaries. Any forecast is going to be most accurate in the two to three year horizon because of the dependency on historical data sets. Most forecasts project out over a five or ten-year period.
