ARJIS Releases
Crime MAPS
On July 17, 2006, ARJIS released Crime MAPS. This Web-based crime incident mapping and reporting application will allow anyone access to arrest, crime and citation information in their area. The Omega Group is proud to have contributed to overall public safety in San Diego County.
CrimeView Community
CrimeView® Community is a browser-based community policing application that enables community members to access crime data in their neighborhoods quickly and easily. Using ESRI’s ArcIMS® server software, this web based mapping technology gives communities the information they need at any given time.
People want to know what is happening in their neighborhoods. With CrimeView® Community you can provide an important public service by giving citizens access to information that they may ordinarily request directly from your staff. Creating self reliance among community members and alleviating some of your staff’s work load, can be of great benefit to a department and its community outreach and staff productivity.
CrimeView® Community now
has two modules available. They can be used individually or together:
Incident Map and Sex Offender Map.
Incident Map Features:
- Locate Crime Incidents
- Near an Address
- Near parks, schools, other landmarks
- Within neighborhoods, other boundaries
- Produce reports
- Easy wizard interface
- Flexible searching by incident type
- Fast response
- Regular updates
- Summary and detail reports
The newest addition to the CrimeView®
Community Application is now available.
As an addition to your current CrimeView®
Community application, or as a stand alone program, The Omega Group
has developed an internet application that easily queries sex offenders
in your community.
Queries can be made by individual neighborhoods, schools, parks, police beats, addresses or intersections. The user can zoom into a one quarter mile area to plot known offenders.
Sex Offender Map Features:
- Locate Sex Offenders:
- Near an Address
- Near parks, schools, other landmarks
- Within neighborhoods, other boundaries
- Produce reports
- Easy wizard interface
- Flexible searching
- Fast response
- Regular updates
CyberWatch™ is a Web based public service tool. It allows members of the general public to receive information about recent incident activity in any area through their existing e-mail account. Here's how it works:
1. Users sign up for the service online - the type of incidents can be specified as well as the address to search from. The search radius can range from 1/4 mile to 1 mile in distance.
2. E-mails arrive - an e-mail alert is sent to the user anytime the specific incident or incidents requested have occurred in the search radius within the last 24 hours. If no incidents have occurred the e-mail is not sent.
Each e-mail alert contains a report outlining what type of incidents occurred as well as when and where they occured. The e-mail alert will also contain a link directly to the on-line mapping application (CrimeView Community) that depicts the results of the requested query.
CyberWatch™ can be installed as added functionality within an existing CrimeView Community application it is not a stand alone service. CyberWatch™ can help neighbors look out for each other as well as aid in existing community oriented policing efforts.
